error cannot access error 2 gpotool, GPOTOOL results states “Error: Cannot access \\XXb.com\sysvol\internaldomain.com\policies\{D28449B7-E912-4941-B3F9-3DA477EA14E5} Error 2″

error cannot access error 2 gpotool, GPOTOOL results states “Error: Cannot access \\XXb.com\sysvol\internaldomain.com\policies\{D28449B7-E912-4941-B3F9-3DA477EA14E5} Error 2″

We know that it is trying to apply this policy but can’t really find the information that the policy specifies

2. It checks which portion of the policy is pertinent

DS version: 0(user) 1(machine)

3. It looks in the Machine section of the policy (vice User policy)

The machine section of the policy specifies 2 Client Side Extensions [{35378EAC-683F-11D2-A89A-00C04FBBCFA2} and {0F6B957D-509E-11D1-7CC-0000F87571E3}] (reference the 2 articles I metioned above) so that it will know how to parse the information in the GptTmpl.inf file at the end of the Machine directory structure (go into the Machine\Microsoft\WindowsNT\SecEdit folder under this policy GUID and you will eventually find this GptTmpl.inf file). This is where the policy configuration is actually housed.

It is trying to read this file, but can’t (this is the Error 2 that you see above) – this typically means the inf does not exist or it cannot read from it.

In my one of case i found that the policy folder moved to under other policy folder.
